When I was 14 years old, my Daddy gave me a box, it was small and plain, but excited to see what was inside I opened it. Inside was 20 small pieces of sea glass he had found on the beach in Spain. thank you Daddy! I love them!! While in Spain, he’d been walking along the shore when the tide pushed a small flashy green and blue stones onto the shore— tiny little treasures shaped by waves and time. He picked them up, thinking of me and how much I love making jewelry.

When he came home he gave it to me, I knew it was special. It wasn’t just sea glass — it was a memory of the love of someone who had been thinking of me from thousands of miles away. I wrapped the glass in copper wire and shaped it into a seahorse.
